Corey J. Giasson, MBA
President, Chief Executive Officer, & Director
Mr. Giasson is an entrepreneur focused on the resource industry, specifically in his home province Saskatchewan. He is a principle and co-founder of Rallyemont Energy Inc. and Kenna Capital Corp. (TSXV-MMG.P). Prior to this, Mr. Giasson was an independent consultant to a variety of resource companies, including PanWestern Energy Inc. (TSXV-PW), Infrastructure Materials Corp. (OTCBB-IFAM), and Anglo Potash Ltd. (TSXV-AGP), which was formerly Anglo Minerals Ltd. (TSXV-ALM). At Anglo, Mr. Giasson held the title of Vice President, Business Development and Investor Relations and was instrumental in marketing the company across Canada and into Europe. Anglo, which was in a joint venture with BHP Billiton Diamonds Inc. (BHP), turned out to be a huge success as it was acquired by BHP for $284 million in July 2008. Prior to joining Anglo, Mr. Giasson was employed by PotashCorp, the world’s largest fertilizer company, where he held the title of Manager, Market Research. He has a MBA and B.Sc. in Agriculture Economics, both from the University of Saskatchewan.
Todd L. Lahti, CFA, CA
Chief Financial Officer, & Director
For the past 12 years Mr. Lahti has evaluated and managed a number of startup companies, working directly on financing transactions, M&A, corporate strategy, business development, technology transfer and operations set up. Prior to this, he was Treasurer of PartnerRe Ltd., one of the largest reinsurance companies in the world. There he participated in large international M&A and financing initiatives and had responsibilities in investment management, investor relations, capital management and financial operations. He has closed over 40 M&A, financing and licensing transactions totaling over $3.1 billion. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Accountant with over 24 years of experience.
Bradley V.A. Fettis, P.Eng.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Fettis is a graduate Geological Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the construction and natural resources industry. He sat on the Board of Directors for Athabasca Potash Inc. (TSX:API) and was the company’s Vice President, Mining until the company was purchased by BHP Billiton Diamonds Inc. (BHP) for $341 million in early 2010. While at API, he was part of the corporate strategic team involved with institutional investor and governmental relations and in overseas financing in China, India, and Europe. He coordinated the engagement and management of professionals and firms in the exploration and development of API’s Burr Greenfield Potash Project.
Mr. Fettis is a senior specialist and widely recognized engineering/geoscience authority in the Potash Industry. He held a number of positions with PotashCorp in all of their underground Saskatchewan potash operations in both senior engineering and operations roles. He began his career in potash mining as an underground surveyor, and has expertise in areas such as mine design, ventilation, project management, construction and operations, hoists, shafts, geophysics and exploration. In the early stage of his engineering career, Mr. Fettis obtained experience in oil and natural gas with Baker Hughes INTEQ, and in open pit and underground uranium mining at Cogema Resources’ Cluff Lake operation.
S.P. (Steve) Halabura, P.Geo., F.E.C. (Hon.)
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Halabura attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon where he studied geology and engineering, prior to obtaining a B.Sc. in Geology (Honours) in 1980, and a M.Sc. in Geology in 1983. He obtained his Professional Geoscientist designation in 1997 and is registered as a Professional Geoscientist in the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. He is also an honorary Fellow of Engineers Canada. In 1984, Mr. Halabura founded North Rim Exploration Ltd., a geoscience consulting company, which provides advisement in the potash, industrial and sedimentary minerals sectors. In November 2009 Mr. Halabura sold North Rim and presently is founder, President and CEO of Concept Forge Inc., a private company specializing in identifying, quantifying, and monetizing stranded resource commodities present in Saskatchewan.
Mr. Halabura began his career as a petroleum geologist with Petrocanada Inc. where he worked from June of 1980 to May of 1983. Mr. Halabura holds APEGS "License for Permission to Consult" in the field of "subsurface geology as applied to petroleum, potash, and industrial minerals deposits" providing research and advice to resource companies, investors, and First Nations. He is directly involved in the petroleum business as co-founder, shareholder, and founding President of Prairie Hunter Energy Corporation, a private oil exploration and development company which sold to Renegade Petroleum Ltd. in 2010. In addition, Mr. Halabura sits on numerous boards including Nucoal Energy Inc., a private energy company that is developing coal to liquid technology (of which he also is a co-founder), 49 North Resources Inc., a TSX Venture Exchange listed resource fund that invests in the mining and oil and gas sectors in Canada, and Kenna Capital Corp.
William T. (Bill) Brown
Director
Mr. Brown has over 28 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. His career has been focused on specialized exploitation utilizing thermal EOR technologies such as SAGD (steam-assisted gravity drainage) recovery of both oil sands and heavy oil, as well as the cold production of heavy oil. He has worked on more than ten thermal recovery projects located in the Alberta oil sands, Lloydminster Alberta/Saskatchewan heavy oil region and Wyoming. He has been responsible for, or coordinated and managed all of the various aspects necessary to evaluate, design, construct, develop and operate a thermal SAGD project.
Bill’s experience with thermal SAGD recovery includes projects run by Husky Oil, Tarrogon Oil & Gas, Marathon Oil Canada, North American Oil Sands and Deer Creek Energy. Mr. Brown has served in senior management and corporate officer positions including CEO and Director for a number of public and private companies. Since 2008, he has served as a founding director for a private company specializing in MWD (measure while drilling) services to the oil & gas industry. He is currently active as a boutique heavy oil and oil sands technical consultant.
Tim T. Galbreath
Independent Director
Mr. Galbreath has 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including land negotiations, administration, acquisitions, divestments, joint interests, aboriginal affairs and general business affairs. He began his land career at Dome Petroleum Limited in 1985. In 1991 Mr. Galbreath became a land consultant for numerous oil and gas companies in Calgary. From 1999 to 2005 he was a Senior Landman/Negotiator and Manager of Aboriginal Affairs for Bonavista Energy Trust. In late 2005 Mr. Galbreath became the principle founder, President, CEO and Director of Torrential Energy Ltd., a publicly traded oil and gas company. In 2009 Mr. Galbreath successfully completed the sale of Torrential and began consulting for True Energy Trust, Caledonian Royalty Corporation and Petrobakken Energy. In April 2010 Mr. Galbreath signed on with Enterra Energy Trust (now Equal Energy Corp.) as Land Manager, and currently is a director of Allstar Energy Limited and Admiralty Oils Ltd. Over the course of his career Mr. Galbreath has been involved with, and successfully completed, nearly $2 billion in acquisitions and divestments.
Mr. Galbreath graduated from the Petroleum and Mineral Resources Land Management program at Mount Royal College in 1984 and successfully completed a Management Certificate from the University of Calgary in 1989. Mr. Galbreath is a member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen.
Jeffrey N. Green
Independent Director
Mr. Green is the managing partner of Jovian Asset Management Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Jovian Capital Corporation, a TSX listed financial services company. Jovian Asset Management Inc. is a holding company which owns Jovian Capital’s asset management entities, such as BetaPro Management Inc., of which Mr. Green is also a Director. Additionally, he is the Chairman of Mission Hills Capital Partners Inc., a privately held merchant bank that provides investors with access to private equity and other high growth investment opportunities in China. He presently sits on the board of directors for both Gilead Power Corporation, a company involved in developing renewable energy projects in Ontario, and Niskibi Power Corporation, a pure power company focused solely on power generation and transmission opportunities in Ontario and northern Manitoba. Niskibi Power Corporation is leveraging its strong aboriginal ties as the primary driver to its business development plans.
